Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has passed away

As one of the authors of the American doctrine of “flexible response”, he participated in the signing of a number of agreements between the USA and the USSR, including in the field of nuclear weapons control.

At one time, he was even awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his significant contribution to the conclusion of the West Berlin Quadrilateral Agreement (1971), the Paris Agreements on the cessation of hostilities and the restoration of peace in Vietnam (1973).

At the same time, this Bavarian-born politician from a religious Jewish family was, in various ways, directly involved in almost all the crimes of American imperialism in the second half of the 20th century, including the crimes of many dictatorships, such as that of Pinochet.

Of course, with a keen sense of the foreign policy situation, Kissinger visited Moscow several times at different times. His works invariably aroused interest, giving a certain insight into the views of the opponent and the logic of their transformation in relation to the realities of the changing world.

As an intelligent and cautious enemy of the Soviet Union and then Russia, the “Grandmaster of Diplomacy,” as his admirers called him, consistently advocated the preservation and reproduction of American dominance of the planet.

In particular, in the early 1960s and 1970s, he made active efforts to build bridges with the Mao Zedong regime in China in order to jointly oppose and maximally weaken the Soviet Union, including in Afghanistan.

Despite his advanced age, the death of the “patriarch of American diplomacy” now, in an era of apparent crisis of Western imperialism and globalism, seems more than symbolic.
