Former Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) United States of America (AS) Hillary Clinton mocking his old enemy, the President Russia Vladimir Putinrelated to the increasing number of alliance members North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) since Moscow invaded Ukraine.

As reported AFPTuesday (27/9/2023), Hillary’s latest comments to Putin were delivered when she visited the US State Department to attend the unveiling of her official portrait as former Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“It’s a shame, Vladimir. You yourself caused it,” said Hillary when speaking at the US State Department on Tuesday (26/9) local time.

“That is a point of contention. And we always say, people are not forced to join NATO, people choose and want to join NATO,” he stressed.

Finland and Sweden immediately attempted to join NATO after Russia launches an invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Kyiv itself also wants to join NATO but has not succeeded.

It is known that each member of the NATO alliance promises to defend each other if one is attacked.

Putin, at the start of the Russian invasion, cited Ukraine’s desire to join NATO as the reason for the invasion.
