“Former Unemployed Mechanic Creates Solidarity Garage in Var”

Gilbert Ors, former unemployed mechanic, created last January in Cuers in the Var, a solidarity garage. Customers pay according to their income. He had this idea during an internship at Pôle Emploi when he met people in the same situation as him.

Gilbert Ors, 55, a former unemployed mechanic, has embarked on a new adventure: resuming his activity on his own, but with solidarity prices. During an internship at Pôle Emploi, he meets people in the same situation as him, unemployed people, RSA beneficiaries with little income. After a year and a half of unemployment, he decides to go back to his old activity but by making rates according to income. For example, for a beneficiary of the RSA, he can offer up to 25% reduction on the hour of labor. One hour normally billed at 54 euros including tax, he bills it at 40 euros including tax.
