Former head coach of the Ukrainian national team and Dynamo Kiev Jozsef Szabo, in an interview with the UPL TV telegram channel, said that he was thinking about appointing Yuri Maksimov as the new head coach of Dnepr-1.

— I didn’t understand at all why Dnepr-1 was looking for a coach abroad when we have so many of our own coaches. There is Mikhailenko, there is Maksimov. I’m very happy for Yura. He worked very well at Vorskla. I don’t know why he was fired from there. Therefore, I will root for him.
— What will Maksimov fight for with Dnepr-1?
“He will definitely build a good game there.” Just not right away. Nothing happens right away. We need to wait a little so that he can see what is happening with the guys there. Someone ruined this team. Yura has the character, skill, and skills to be a good coach for Dnepr-1.
— How quickly will he remember what the UPL is after working in the second league?
— Now between the teams of the UPL and the lower leagues there is not such a huge difference as before. How many football players left Ukraine. Therefore, players from the first and second leagues moved to the UPL. This is the kind of football we have now. Let’s see what happens. I don’t know whether Kolomoisky gives money or not. Kolomoisky is no longer here. I don’t know who will be the owner at Dnepr-1.
— How will Maksimov be influenced by the fact that during the off-season it was not he who prepared and built this team?
“That’s why I say we have to wait.” He came and took the team. We need to deal with the players. How they trained, what discipline was in the team, and so on. This takes time.
