In 2018, friends of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov kidnapped a friend of Russian mixed martial arts fighter Oleg Taktarov. Comrade Taktarova (Egor) was filming a documentary during a meeting with Nurmagomedov. The mixed martial arts fighter himself spoke about this.
“Khabib was too wary of my friend Yegor, who came with me and filmed the documentary “How to get from MMA to Hollywood.” <…> If there are problems, you can come to me, but you don’t have to kidnap Yegor with the four of us, take him somewhere to the mountains and force him to delete all the material there, ”Oleg Taktarov said in a conversation with News.ru. He also said that all the footage from the filming had already been uploaded to the cloud, so it was pointless to kidnap a friend. Taktarov said that after this story he had an unpleasant aftertaste for a long time.
Taktarov is known for being the first Russian to receive a UFC championship belt. 22 years later, Khabib Nurmagomedov received the same title.
