Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the opportunity to make former striker Serhiy Rebrov their new manager, Tuttomercatoweb reported.

And we were thinking that Mauricio Pochettino would be the only man linked with a surprising return to North London today.

While The Guardian reports that Pochettino would happily turn his back on a club with as much stability as a lounger in a bouncy castle, Paris Saint-Germain has its own ideas.

The Argentine is under contract until 2022 and PSG would not exactly like the prospect of looking for another new coach, just five months after pulling Thomas Tuchel out of his misery.

As a result, there is a need for Tottenham to look for alternatives in the market.

According to TMW, Rebrov, 46, has emerged as an option from left field.

Mauricio Pochettino … or Serhiy Rebrov?

Rest assured, however, that Rebrov, the Tottenham manager, could be much better than Rebrov, the Tottenham striker.

The former Ukraine international scored just ten Premier League goals during a torturous season at Spurs but, since trading his cleats for a whistle and clipboard, Rebrov’s record is undeniable.

He lifted five trophies between 2015 and 2018 at Dynamo Kiev before guiding Hungarian giant Ferencvaros to three consecutive league titles. Did we mention that Rebrov also led Ferencvaros to the Champions League after 25 years away?

A 64 percent win rate says it all, too, a much higher success rate than Pochettino’s during those heady days at the Spurs (54 percent).

For now, there is no suggestion that Rebrov is a genuine candidate for Tottenham’s job. But maybe, with that track record, he should be.
