Former multiple-time TNA X-Division Champion Mike Bailey is expected to be close to signing with AEW once his current contract with TNA Wrestling expires.

PWInsider initially reported that Bailey’s contract would end on November 1st. However, Fightful clarified that the contract runs until the end of 2024. Bailey’s next destination is expected to be AEW, where he could debut starting in January 2025. Bailey secured trademark rights to his name this month and although his contract is officially still running, he wrestled his final match for TNA at the tapings in Detroit. He lost his X-Division title to Moose. The match aired last Thursday.

Josh Alexander announced via social media on Sunday that he is retiring from the independent scene to make way for the next generation of talent.

I have loved my time in the independents over the last 20 years. “I’ve experienced great things, worked with amazing people, and gotten to travel the world performing in front of incredible fans,” Alexander wrote. “But I’m tired of the constant hustle. It’s time for the next generation to step up and fill the void I may be leaving in the Canadian scene

Alexander credited the independent scene for the great experiences it gave him, the lifelong friendships he made there and for meeting his wife, current TNA host Jade Chung.

It’s not a goodbye forever, it’s just a ‘see you later’.

The announcement came during a Northern Crown Wrestling event, where Alexander stated that he remains open to special appearances in the future. The 37-year-old is under contract with TNA until February next year before becoming a free agent.

In recent days, several matches have been confirmed for the upcoming live special “Turning Point 2024” on Friday.
