Former Tinkoff Bank Managers Purchase Bank in Philippines for Financial and Technical Service Development

Former top managers of Tinkoff Bank Pavel Fedorov and Georgy Chesakov bought a bank in the Philippines to develop their financial and technical service, founded back in 2022. Fedorov himself spoke about this.

«[После покупки банка] we will be able to attract deposits and issue plastic debit and credit cards. We can finance medium and small businesses, providing a full range of banking services to millions of Filipinos and small and medium-sized enterprises,” Pavel Fedorov told RBC.

At the same time, the purchase of the bank was due to the development of the Salmon startup, a fintech service launched by Chesakov and Fedorov in the summer of 2022. According to the ex-top manager, it would have been much easier to establish your own bank in order to have all the benefits of the project and not depend on anyone. It is clarified that the Philippine financial institution has been operating since 1963. Also, the agency’s interlocutor did not disclose the cost of the transaction.
