Former Student Charged with Non-Bailable Offense for Forging Certificate from Maharaja’s College

Kochi: To become a guest lecturer, former student K. created a fake document in the name of Ernakulam Maharaja’s College. Non-bailable sections were charged against Vidya. A case has been registered on charges punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years. Sections 465, 468 and 471 of the IPC have been imposed.
It has been recorded in the FIR that he forged a document with the intention of cheating.

The statement of the principal of Maharajas College has been taken in the case. The principal testified that there was no lapse on the part of the college and the document was forged. As the incident took place in Attapadi, the case may be handed over to Agli police.

The case against Vidya is that she forged documents in the name of Maharaja’s College and worked in Kasargod and Palakkad colleges. Rekha has worked as a guest lecturer at Maharaja for two years. The case is that the seal of the college and the signature of the vice-principal were forged.

Vidya has worked in two colleges by creating a fake certificate showing that she has worked as a guest lecturer in the Malayalam section during 2018-19 and 2020-21.
A fake certificate is made by affixing a fake seal and stamp.

The principal of Maharajas was contacted by the college authorities who were suspicious when he came for an interview as part of the appointment to Attappady College. Then it was found that the certificate was fake. Later, the principal of Maharajas College lodged a complaint with the police.
