The bottom fell asleep quietly on Thursday 17 March, reports Varden.
She turned 88 years old.
The Labor politician was elected to the Storting from Telemark from 1981 to 1993, and she was a deputy representative from 1977–1981.
Botnen has also been the leader of Tinn Ap, as well as a member of the county council, the county committee in Telemark and in the Labor Party’s central board. She also sat for several years on the municipal council in Tinn municipality.
The former Storting politician was a trained librarian and was also for many years library manager at Rjukan.
