The former president of the Spanish Federation defends himself again
Former Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales defended himself again in his famous case linked to his actions during the 2023 Women’s World Cup final between Spain and England.
The 46-year-old was banned by FIFA from entering the world of football for three years after he kissed Gheni Hermoso, the Spanish national team player, to celebrate his victory in the world title, after he had been forced to resign from his position.
Rubiales always insisted that the kiss was consensual, and he repeated his statement during his appearance on the “Alves Perez” channel on YouTube, and even indicated that what happened was simply the players’ revenge on him because he did not implement their request to fire coach Jorge Velda.

He said, “The kiss was consensual. I asked her and she said okay, but the media is receiving orders not to mention that.”
He continued regarding the accusations made against him by the female national team players, “The players are lying. They asked me to dismiss Jorge Vilda, but I did not fulfill their request, so they saw it as an opportunity and took revenge on me.”
Rubiales concluded his speech by pointing out that raising his story in Spain was aimed at covering up more important events and pushing people not to talk about them, such as the issue of the amnesty law, which sparked widespread controversy in the country and was rejected by the opposition parties.
