On the YouTube channel “Visiting Gordon” it turned out interview with an illegal former Soviet intelligence officer and writer Sergei Zhirnov living in France.

During an interview with the founder of the online publication “GORDON” Dmitry Gordon, Zhirnov, in particular, spoke about:

  • why Russian political scientist Valery Solovy should make statements about the alleged death of the president of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and his doubles;
  • whether there will be a war between Russia and NATO;
  • speeches by relatives of those mobilized in Russia;
  • whether there will be mass protests in Russia that will bring down Putin;
  • speech by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Davos;
  • Western aid to Ukraine.

“Do I believe in the scenario that Putin will go to Europe? I don’t believe it. I am a rational person. But Putin is an irrational person. If he were rational, he would not have gone to Ukraine with war. I did not believe that he would go to Ukraine to war, because the front was not prepared, the rear was not prepared, the logistics were not prepared, there was no army… There was nothing, but he went. And if he went to Ukraine, then what’s stopping him from repeating the same idiocy somewhere more?” – said Zhirnov.

Zhirnov was born in 1961 in Moscow. Graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations of MGIMO and the Red Banner Institute of the KGB of the USSR named after Yu.V. Andropov, where Putin also studied. The KGB recruited Zhirnov to MGIMO.

In 1987–1991, Zhirnov worked in Directorate “C” of the First Main Directorate of the KGB of the USSR, which performed the functions of illegal intelligence, and in 1991–1992 – in the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation.

Since 2001, Zhirnov has lived in France and criticizes Putin’s policies.

Zhirnov published several books, including the novel “How the KGB Hunted Me.”
