Busan South Police Station is investigating 41-year-old Jang Won-sam on the charge of driving backwards while drunk and hitting a vehicle behind him on road in Gwangan-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, around 1pm on the 17th.
Police were reportedly sent out and measured Mr Jang’s blood alcohol content and found it to be at a level that would cause his driver’s license to be revoked.
Since the accident was not minor, the police plan to send Mr. Jang home for now and call him back later to continue the investigation.
Wonsam Jang joined Hyundai Unicorns in 2006 and played for Samsung, LG, and Lotte before retiring in 2020.
Recently, he appears on an entertainment program related to basketball.
