Former Russian Prime Minister Kasyanov: Putin Fighting to Retain Power and Cannot Compromise

Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov said that Putin is trying with all his might to retain power.

Mikhail Kasyanov refuted the popular opinion that the President of the Russian Federation is crazy and his actions are dictated by this: “Many people want to consider Putin crazy, but he is not crazy: he understands perfectly well what he is doing. He is fighting for his power. The idea that he has gone crazy and wants to enslave the whole world is unfounded reasoning.”.

You can watch Kasnov’s interview for “News Factory” on the channel YouTube.

The former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation expressed his opinion about the goals of the head of the Kremlin: “Putin is fighting to retain power. To maintain power within the country, he cannot create a prosperous nation, because he does nothing for this, but does the opposite, so he needs victorious wars and would like short ones. He believed that the war against Ukraine would be short and victorious. Miscalculated“.

The Russian opposition politician also explained why Putin cannot compromise on the war in Ukraine: “Now he has big problems: now, by his nature and character, he cannot compromise, because Putin is not a politician, Putin is an administrator and he has never consensus he did not participate in decisions, so for him any compromises are concessions (sort of like defeat). That’s why he can’t back down now“.

Earlier, Kasyanov told how Putin reacts to rumors about his death.

Kasyanov also voiced the “worst case scenario” for providing military assistance to Ukraine from the United States.

Let us remember that Kasyanov said that what Putin really needs from Kim Jong-un is other than weapons.
