The publication estimates the fortune of Anisimov, a former partner of Russian Alisher Usmanov, at $1.6 billion.
The documents that Anisimov showed to Forbes indicate that he got rid of Russian citizenship back in September 2022. He now holds citizenship of the Dominican Republic (obtained in the mid-1990s) and Croatia (since October 2003).
In particular, to obtain a Croatian passport, the businessman had to invest a total of $11 million in real estate in this country over several years. The funds, in particular, went to the construction of a sports base on the island of Korcula, where Russian gymnasts trained for almost 20 years until a full-scale invasion began Russian Federation to Ukraine.
Anisimov claims that he currently has no assets in the aggressor country of Russia, but he periodically visits it on a business visa at the invitation of Bolshoye Domodedovo LLC, of which he was the owner.
