The judge of the Spanish National Court Francisco de Jorge has proposed judging the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales for the non-consensual kiss he gave to the player Jenni Hermoso after the World Cup final on August 20 and due to the pressures to which she was subjected to justify it.

After several months of investigation, the judge concluded that the kiss “was not consensual and was a unilateral and surprising initiative” by Rubiales, whom he has investigated for a crime of sexual assault and another of coercion.

The magistrate does not specify in his order the crimes for which he proposes to try Rubiales because, as he explains, at this moment his function is limited to appreciating that there is sufficient evidence against him, so that it is the accusations who must specify for which crimes they carry out action against those investigated.

In addition to Rubiales, the judge of the National Court believes that there are indications to bench former women’s coach Jorge Vilda; the director of the men’s team, Albert Luque; and the marketing manager of the Rfef, Rubén Rivera, for the pressure on Jenni Hermoso.

De Jorge maintains that there could be a concerted action between the three, agreed with Rubiales, “to break the will” of the soccer player “and get her to agree to record a video in which she said that the kiss was consensual.”
