In the current week, the case of Roman Berbro, who was a frog at the source of Czech football for many years, is being heard at the district court in Pilsen. Roman Rogoz, among others, is the defendant, while former judge Jiří Houdek testified about him on Friday.
For the fifth day, the case of Roman Berbro, who was vice-chairman of the Football Association of the Czech Republic at the time, is being discussed.
The public considered him the ruler of Czech football, but he was not exactly at the tip of the iceberg. Well, at least as far as his position is concerned, it was supposed to look different behind the scenes.
However, he is not the only one being dealt with at the District Court in Pilsen, there are 22 defendants and one of them is Roman Rogoz, the sports manager of Slavoje Vyšehrad.
On Friday, former referees Jiří Houdek and Michal Myška were summoned, and it was the former who fired a few pearls that will resonate in domestic football for a long time.
Houdek came because of the alleged acceptance of a bribe in the match between Vyšehrad and Sokolov. However, he himself denies that he received such an offer. However, he received the money, which he does not deny.
“I would like to comment on the handover of cash in the judges’ booth. I heard Roman Rogoz apologize several times for the bad food, but I didn’t notice it in any way. After the match, Roman Rogoz called me and put some cash in my pocket, saying that he was sorry for not inviting us to lunch before the match, so let’s jump on it.
I gave two thousand crowns to my colleagues, five to one, and I kept the rest myself (the exact total amount could not be heard due to the poor acoustics in the hall, it was probably 12 thousand CZK). I didn’t consider it a compensation for our performance in the match. If Roman Rogoz had come up with the idea that it was for performance, I would never have taken the finance.
I didn’t take it as a bribe because I didn’t get anything before. In addition, the total amount is really low considering our flat rates, we took 25 and 15 thousand,“ he said in the courtroom, with the transcript brought up by the server Sport.cz.
