Former Real, Barcelona and Atlético Antic (71) coach passed away | NOW

Radomir Antic died on Monday after a long illness. The Serbian former coach of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, the only one who coached the three Spanish top clubs, was 71 years old.

Antic knew his heyday as a trainer at Atlético, which also reports his death. With ‘Los Rojiblancos’ he took the double in the 1995/1996 season: the championship and the cup.

The former defender was responsible for Atlético from 1995 to 2000. He held sway before and after that at Real (1991/1992) and Barcelona (2003), but without much success.

Antic was also a trainer of Real Zaragoza, Real Oviedo, Celta de Vigo and national coach of Serbia, with which he was eliminated in the group stage at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

As a player, Antic played for Sloboda Uzice, Partizan Belgrade, Fenerbahçe, Real Zaragoza and Luton Town. He played one international match for Serbia: in 1973 the exhibition game with Hungary.
