Thanks to Noni Madueke, Chelsea have secured their first win of the season in the Premier League. The former PSV player scored a hat-trick in fourteen minutes after the break at Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-6).
Goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer for the visitors and Matheus Cunha and ex-FC Groningen striker Jørgen Strand Larsen for the home team made it 2-2 at half-time. In the 49th minute, Madueke’s quarter-hour started, despite the player being booed by the home crowd.
On social media, Madueke had made some less than complimentary comments about Wolverhampton City on Saturday night. The post was quickly deleted, but the Molineux crowd had not forgotten it and booed him throughout the match.
