Former PSV player and triple Orange-international Kemper (77) died | NOW

Former PSV defender Peter Kemper died on Thursday from the consequences of heart failure. The triple international of Orange has turned 77 years old.

From 1961, Kemper was under contract with PSV for no less than fourteen seasons. The born Hagenaar became national champion with the Eindhoven team in 1963 and 1975, for which he played more than two hundred league games.

In his first years with PSV, Kemper forced a place in the Dutch national team. He made his debut for the Dutch in October 1964 in a World Cup qualifier against Albania and played two more international matches in April 1967. Kemper finished his career at Helmond Sport in 1976.

After his career, he remained actively involved with PSV. He was a member of the PSV d’Oude Glorie Committee – a group for former players – from the start of the foundation and served as a jury member for many years during the Otten Cup, PSV’s youth tournament.

“PSV wishes all the next of kin, especially his wife Fransje, children and grandchildren a lot of strength with the loss of Peter,” writes the Eredivisionist on the website.
