Former President Álvaro Uribe once again ruled on another of the reforms that the National Government is proposing, after criticizing the presentation on health. This time he issued a letter in which he criticized some points of the labor reform and presented some proposals that are being promoted by the Democratic Center.

“Today it is not understood why they want to make the dismissal more burdensome, which is equivalent to hindering employment. Imposing collective bargaining by industry ignores the fact that in the same branch of activity there may be substantial differences between companies, costs, regions, etc.” Uribe pointed out.

“The adjustment of schedules of Law 789 of 2002 was accompanied by the creation of the Emprender Fund and the apprenticeship fee, paid by employers. This law facilitated the Learning Contract; however, the country has not created a sufficient number of apprenticeships and the proposal to govern it entirely by labor laws will discourage its application”, complemented the former president.

proposals

In addition to criticizing the labor reform, former President Uribe unveiled some proposals for the Petro Government initiative. “The working day, which is beginning to be reduced this year, will require a compensatory effort in productivity. Let’s not forget that Colombia, in the OECD, has the least time for family and fun. Please do not eliminate the union contract, it is a source of business and worker improvement. Through this figure, the company contracts many activities with the workers’ organization and everyone wins”, said.
