Former US President Donald Trump opened his November presidential campaign with a speech in Newton, Iowa, promising to win again. This happened on the anniversary of the attack on the Capitol in 2021.

In his speech, he did not focus on the events of three years ago, but defined as “hostages” the people who are in custody because of what happened then.

Trump has promised, if elected, to pardon many of them. He warned that if his rival Joe Biden wins the election, World War III could break out, stressing that the vote is the last chance to save America.

According to the former president, Biden presided over the economic decline and caused chaos at the borders, while failing to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine:

“The stakes in this election couldn’t be higher under dishonest Joe Biden. Our borders, if you’ve noticed, and I’m sure no one has, they’ve been erased, they’ve been obliterated. Millions and millions of people are crossing into our country Donald Trump said.
