Former President Trump Reveals Criteria for Running Mate, Delays Announcement

Former President Donald Trump has disclosed his criteria for selecting a running mate, emphasizing the importance of choosing someone who could step up and handle the presidency in case of an emergency. During an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Trump expressed his intention to wait a little longer before announcing his vice presidential pick.

The most crucial factor in Trump’s decision-making process is identifying someone who possesses the qualities necessary to fulfill the role of president. “Always it’s gotta be who is going to be a good president. Obviously you always have to think that because in case of emergency. Things happen, right? No matter who you are, things happen. That’s gotta be number one,” Trump explained.

When asked directly about his potential running mate, Trump remained tight-lipped but assured Bartiromo that he has been engaging with several individuals and considering various ideas. “Well, I have a lot of good people. I have a lot of good ideas,” he shared, emphasizing that he has been in contact with numerous potential candidates.

One name that Trump mentioned was South Carolina Senator Tim Scott. Trump expressed his belief that Scott would be a more formidable candidate for the Trump campaign than he was for his own presidential campaign. “You know, I called Tim Scott and people like Tim Scott, and I said you’re a much better candidate for me than you are for yourself,” Trump revealed. He commended Scott’s recent efforts in defending and advocating for him, recognizing his loyalty and dedication.

Another individual Trump praised was South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. According to Trump, Noem had publicly stated that she would never run against him because she believed she could never defeat him in an election. This endorsement from Noem showcases the strong bond between the former president and the South Dakota governor.

In response to reports that his campaign had reached out to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to explore a potential ticket, Trump vehemently denied the claims, stating that such an interaction “never happened.” This clarification from Trump puts an end to speculation surrounding a potential collaboration between him and Kennedy.

As Trump continues to deliberate on his vice presidential pick, the American public eagerly anticipates his decision. With his emphasis on finding someone capable of assuming the presidency during unforeseen circumstances, it is clear that Trump is prioritizing stability and leadership in his search for a running mate. The wait for the announcement may be prolonged, but it is evident that Trump is carefully considering all options before making his final decision.

In the meantime, speculation runs rampant about who will ultimately join forces with the former president in his potential bid for the White House. As the political landscape evolves, only time will reveal who will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Donald Trump in his quest to reclaim the presidency.
