A group of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection (Corona 19) occurred in the eastern detention center in Seoul, where former President Lee Myung-bak is in prison.

According to the quarantine authorities and legal officials on the 19th, the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul conducted a Corona 19 test on all 2,400 prisoners the day before. As a result of the test, a total of 184 prisoners and 1 employee were confirmed. It is known that the confirmed cases were mainly from Suseong-dong.

Former President Lee is known to have received a negative test.

Earlier, 14 employees at the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul were diagnosed with Corona 19 on the 15th.

When entering the detention center for the first time, it is quarantined for two weeks to prevent Corona 19, and if there are no symptoms, it is moved to an existing prison.

After separating the prisoners who were found to be confirmed, the Ministry of Justice closed the prison and took quarantine measures.

Former President Lee was sentenced to 17 years in prison for embezzlement and bribery, and has been imprisoned in the Eastern Detention Center since the 2nd of last month.
