“Former President Lee Myung-bak Praises President Yoon Seok-yeol’s State Administration”

Former President Lee Myung-bak positively evaluated President Yoon Seok-yeol’s state administration, saying, “I think he is doing very well.”

This morning, former President Lee took a walk along Cheonggyecheon with the members of the ‘Cheonggyecheon Loving Group’, a group of Seoul civil servants who participated in the Cheonggyecheon restoration project while serving as mayor of Seoul.

At this meeting, former President Lee responded to the question of how he viewed President Yoon’s state administration, saying, “I am cautious in my assessment,” but “I see it positively.”

Regarding the outcome of the Korea-Japan talks, he said, “Historically, President Yoon Seok-yeol is doing well.”

In addition, he added that President Yoon is also doing well in diplomacy, ″Evaluation must be fair.″

Former President Lee Myung-bak went on to mention that the current political situation is difficult and emphasized, “We need to gather some strength, we have to make the president work.”

When asked if he resumed his political activities ahead of the general election, former President Lee drew a line saying, “I am not interested in the general election,” and added, “I hope the country goes well.”

When he pointed out that there was a voice of criticism for the “Four Major Rivers Project,” which he focused on during his tenure, he said, “(Bo) Dismantling, doing anything is political,” and said, “Our people and citizens will protect it.”

In addition to the members of ‘Cheongsamo’, more than 40 supporters, including former Minister of Special Affairs Lee Jae-oh, Congressman Jeong Woon-cheon, who served as Minister of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries under the Lee Myung-bak administration, and officials from the People’s Solidarity for Advanced Places joined the walk.
