Donald Trump believes that European countries must contribute more support to Ukraine.
Former President of the United States, Donald Trumpsaid in an interview on Sunday morning that European countries should contribute over $100 billion more to Ukraine to offset what the US has contributed.
It reports Newsweek.
When asked if he would “stop the flow of money” to Ukraine, Trump replied:
– I wanted the war settled.
Trump adds that European countries are not contributing as much as the United States and that he will pressure them to increase their support for Ukraine.
– Firstly, I would say to Europe: “You are missing 100 billion dollars, you have to pay”.
Trump has repeatedly emphasized that if he were still president, the war in Ukraine would never have taken place, and that he can end the war within one day if he is re-elected as president in 2024.
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, denounces Trump’s claims. He emphasizes that the president already had the opportunity to intervene amid years of escalating tensions between Moscow and Kyiv when he was president.
