Former US President Donald Trump was told by his lawyer that he was indicted on Thursday night, according to social media Truth Social.postbottom. Three people familiar with the matter also said his post was accurate.
In it, Trump said the charges were related to a criminal investigation into the handling of classified documents after the president’s term ended. He said he was ordered to appear in federal court in Miami at 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday.
We reached out to the White House for comment, but did not receive a response. The Trump campaign declined to comment.
