LThe Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis, called this Saturday to testify next week before a grand jury several witnesses of the alleged attempt to invalidate the elections in Georgia, a case that could mean the fourth indictment of former President Donald Trump.
Former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan said in a social media post that he has been subpoenaed as a potential witness and will testify behind closed doors before a grand jury on Tuesday.
I can confirm that I have been requested to testify before the Fulton County grand jury on Tuesday. I look forward to answering their questions around the 2020 election.

Duncan was a longtime Trump supporter but publicly broke with him after the 2020 election.

These subpoenas represent the first official confirmation that the prosecutor investigating the case is acting to seek charges and presumably indict Trump, more than two years after the investigation began.
According to leaks about the investigations of the case published by the media, the origin of this investigation was a call between Trump and the Secretary of State of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger, in which the former president allegedly asked him to “seek” the votes that were necessary to annul today’s President Joe Biden’s victory in the state.
After the news was released today, Trump referred to precisely that call.
How can I be charged in Georgia? The phone call was PERFECT. WITCH HUNTING!” said the former president, who remains convinced of the political persecution against him.
This could be the fourth criminal charge faced by the former president. Last week Trump was indicted by a Washington DC grand jury on four charges for allegedly trying to reverse the result of the 2020 US elections, which culminated in the assault on the country’s Capitol on January 6, 2021.
In addition, in New York Trump has been charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to pay porn actress Stormy Daniels, with whom he had an “affair” in the past, for her silence during the 2016 election campaign. .
And the other criminal case is in Florida, where he is charged with 40 counts of illegally stealing and keeping classified documents that he took from the White House in his Mar-a-Lago mansion.
Trump, the first criminally accused former president in US history, faces these processes in the midst of the race to the White House in 2024, as the favorite candidate of the Republican Party.
