Former President Bill Clinton (75) hospitalized

The former president of the United States is on the mend, his spokesman said via Twitter. He is “incredibly grateful” for the good care he receives from the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.

Clinton has been admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit with a urinary tract infection that has spread to his bloodstream, reported CNN.

Close supervision and antibiotics

He is being closely monitored there and receiving antibiotics, doctors write in a statement on Twitter. According to them, the former president was not in the ICU because he needs intensive care, but for privacy and safety.

Clinton responded well to the antibiotics administered after two days of treatment and is still in the hospital to be monitored.

Tired

He was staying in California for a private event for his foundation. He is said to have felt fatigued on Tuesday and was admitted to hospital after testing, according to his office. According to CNN, the former president will receive antibiotics via IV until today, after which he will probably receive oral antibiotics.

Bill Clinton was President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He won the 1992 US election over George Bush senior.
