Former Police Captain Wins Democratic primary for New York mayor

Eric Adams is 60 and has a good chance of being elected mayor of New York City, usually a Democratic stronghold, by the end of this year. He would then become the city’s second black mayor after David Dinkins in the 1990s. Now his white party colleague Bill de Blasio is mayor.
