Former Philadelphia Union players called up by U.S. interim coach | Sports

Several former Philadelphia Union players have been called up by interim coach Mikey Varas, who has selected 24 players for the U.S. national team’s upcoming matches against Canada and New Zealand.

Players are expected to report to Kansas City on September 1 to begin training.

The first match will be against Canada on September 7 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, with a 4 p.m. kickoff. Three days later, Team USA will host New Zealand at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, with the game scheduled for 7 p.m.

According to an official statement, the United States Soccer Federation is still searching for a permanent coach, while Varas has assumed responsibility for selecting the players for these matches. The coaching staff is completed by Nico Estévez and Jack Robinson.
