The claim was disclosed by retired US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor in a recent interview.

Days later, Zelensky said he had found evidence of war crimes in an area vacated by Russian troops and that the negotiations had been called off.
In an interview with military historian Michael Vlahos, published on Saturday, MacGregor said Britain was responsible for abruptly halting peace talks.
“We have evidence that in late March, Mr. Zelensky said ‘yes, we can live with neutrality,’ and when word got out to Washington and London, people were outraged,” he said.

“Boris Johnson represented Washington’s interests and said ‘absolutely not, we will support you to the end. You have to stand up and fight for every inch of Ukraine,” he said.
