Former PDIP Task Force Cadre Who Beats Teenagers in Medan Wasn’t Detained, Here’s The Reason

Halpian Sembiring Meliala (45), former Cakra Buana PDIP cadre the suspect in the beating of a teenager, F (17), in Medan, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), ‘survived’ from detention. This is the explanation of the North Sumatra Police.

“Based on the rule of law, the suspect cannot be detained because the threat of imprisonment is under 5 years,” said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, when asked for confirmation, Sunday (12/26/2021).

Because he was not detained, Halpian was obliged to report once a week before the North Sumatran Police investigators. Although the suspect was not arrested, Kombes Hadi ensured that the handling of this beating case would continue.

“This case continues,” said Kombes Hadi.

As is known, the case of beating a 17-year-old teenager in Medan began when the car driven by Halpian hit a motorbike. The owner of the motorbike, who is none other than a teenager with the initials F, reprimanded Halpian as the driver.

Unacceptably reprimanded, Halpian kicked and several times hit the teenager. This incident, from the car hitting the motorbike until Halpian kicked and hit the teenager was recorded on CCTV, the video of which later went viral.

The family of the teenager did make a report to the police. After receiving the report, the police conducted an investigation and named the suspect and arrested Halpian on Friday (12/24).

Halpian defended himself regarding the kick and the ‘raw bomb’ that landed on the body of the teenager with the initials F. Halpian confessed to the police that he was upset because the teenager was rude when he reprimanded him.

“The suspect’s initial statement stated that his motives were hurt, because he felt that the victim’s child was disrespectful to him,” said Medan Police Chief Kombes Riko Sunarko at a press conference in Medan, Saturday (25/12).
