Now, after the poor performance of the Indian team, the former Pakistan star’s words about India’s bowling are garnering attention. The former Pakistan player believed that India is nothing without Jasprit Bumrah. Junaid said this through his X account.
What sets Bumrah apart from other players is his ability to lead the team to victory with proper pace on the field and perform well in pressure situations. Bumrah was instrumental in India’s victory in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. In the tournament, the Indian star pacer took 15 wickets from the opposition from eight matches.
Bumrock was able to win the man of the match award in the match against Ireland and Pakistan in the group stage of the World Cup. In the last match against South Africa, it was Bumrah’s brilliant bowling that brought back the match lost in the hands of India. Bumrah brought India back into the game with a superb bowling performance when the Proteas needed 30 runs from 30 balls in the last over.
BCCI relaxed for the entire series after the World Cup. Even without Bumrah, there were good bowlers like Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Kuldev Yadav, but none of them could produce a match-winning performance.
Now ahead of the Indian team is the series against Bangladesh. The series consists of two Test matches and three T20Is. The first test match will start on September 19. Bumrah is expected to return to the team after a long break in this series.
