Jakarta, Selular.ID – Juho Sarvikas has been the force behind Nokia smartphones for more than a decade. He was the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global after the brand was ‘reborn’ with Android, but now he is joining Qualcomm.
Since April 12, Sarvikas has been VP in San Diego and president of the North American division.
The changes were announced by Jim Cathey, president of Qualcomm Global, on Twitter. Sarvikas followed suit with a retweet, essentially confirming the news, which was warmly received on social media by other key executives in San Diego, media people and fans.
He also reported his presence in the new office through social media on his first day of work.

Sarvikas moves to chip maker after 4.5 years at HMD Global and more than 15 years in the smartphone world.
HMD Global was founded in 2016 to revive the Nokia name, and the company is made up of several teams that were part of the original Nokia conglomerate, which Microsoft later bought out. Sarvikas’ role as Chief Product Officer eventually made him the face of Nokia smartphones, as he is a frequent spanner at major company events and his active presence on social media.
