Petr Klima, the NHL legend who scored the triple-overtime goal that ended the longest game in Stanley Cup final history, has died at 58. The Edmonton Oilers confirmed Klima’s death on Twitter. Klima played for the Oilers, Detroit Red Wings, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings, and Pittsburgh Penguins in 13 seasons in the NHL. He scored 28 goals in 95 career NHL playoff games, including the memorable goal in the ’90 Cup final against the Boston Bruins. Klima’s death came 11 days before the 23rd anniversary of his legendary goal. Internationally, Klima represented the Czech Republic on multiple occasions.
