Ryan Mallett played for the New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens. He has now died at the age of 35. “We’ve lost a great man,” says Tom Brady.
Former NFL quarterback Ryan Mallett has died at the age of 35. Mallett drowned Tuesday off the coast of Destin, Florida, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Mallet, who plays for the North American Football League’s New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, was in the water with a group of others when they got into trouble, authorities said. Mallett went under.
Lifeguards brought Mallett ashore, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. “We express our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones after his tragic death,” the official said.
Most recently, Mallett worked as a high school football coach in his native Arkansas. “We lost a great man. Thank you for everything Ryan,” quarterback superstar Tom Brady wrote in an Instagram Story for a photo with Mallett from their Patriots days. (APA/dpa)
