Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern (43), who made headlines by saying “let’s get married” to her common-law lover when announcing her sudden resignation in January last year, is actually getting married.
According to New Zealand media reports on the 9th (local time), former Prime Minister Ardern plans to hold a wedding with her lover Clark Gayford on the 13th at a winery in Hawke’s Bay, North Island, New Zealand.
The private wedding will be attended by only a small number of guests, including family, close friends, and current and former politicians.
Former Prime Minister Ardern, born in July 1980, was elected as the 40th Prime Minister of New Zealand in 2017 at the age of 37. Former Prime Minister Ardern gave birth to a daughter in 2018 with her common-law partner, broadcaster Clark Gayford (47).

Former Prime Minister Ardern had publicly announced her intention to marry Clark Gayford in the past, but had postponed it until now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Former Prime Minister Ardern, who led the COVID-19 emergency, held a press conference on January 19 last year and announced her resignation, saying, “I have run out of energy.”
Former Prime Minister Ardern said, “I want to be a mother who goes to my daughter Neve when she starts school this year,” and said to Gayford, who was at the scene, “Finally, let’s get married, too.”
