NEW YORK — Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced online that he will not run for Congress, putting to rest rumors of his candidacy to represent the 11th District.
In a series of tweets, de Blasio said he is “confident a progressive can win this seat and serve us in Washington.”
“I have represented the neighborhoods of the 11th Congressional District for years and love the people who live here. It was gratifying to connect with the community and elected leaders as I considered running. I am confident a progressive can win this seat and serve us in Washington.” Said one of his tweets.
