Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo also avoids prosecution in Albany

David Soares – the district attorney for Albany, New York – said in a statement Tuesday that the complaint from Cuomo’s former assistant Brittany Commisso has been investigated and that he found her to be “cooperative and credible.” But according to Soares, there is not enough evidence to substantiate the accusation in court. “I, like most New Yorkers, remain deeply disturbed by the allegations,” he said. “Such behavior has no place in government or in any workplace.”

It was also announced last week that the former New York governor will not face charges of sexual abuse against women in Westchester and Nassau.

Several cases are currently pending against Cuomo. These started after New York Attorney General Letitia James released a report in August that concluded he had sexually harassed 11 women, including former staffers. The report cost Cuomo his job. He has consistently denied the charges and continues to claim that he was the victim of a political vendetta.
