Former NBA Development League Player, Chance Comanche, Faces Judge Over Alleged Murder of Woman

A former NBA development league player will face a judge this Tuesday over accusations of killing a woman.

LAS VEGAS – A former NBA development league player accused along with his ex-girlfriend of killing a woman whose body was found last month in southern Nevada will face a Las Vegas judge on Tuesday following his transfer to custody from a jail in Sacramento, California.

Chance Comanche27, who played for the Stockton Kings before his arrest Dec. 15 in Sacramento, arrived this Sunday at the Clark County Detention Center and must make an initial appearance, court and jail records show.

Comanche presumably admitted to strangling Marayna Rodgers23, before detectives last month, according to an affidavit from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Comanche’s defense attorney, Gary Guymon declined to comment Monday. before appearing in court.

Comanche’s ex-girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, 19, is also jailed in Las Vegas awaiting a separate preliminary hearing Wednesday on charges related to the disappearance and death of Rodgers, of Lynnwood, Washington.

Las Vegas police said Rodgersa medical assistant, She died of asphyxiation on December 6. His remains were later found in a roadside ditch in the suburb of Henderson.

Comanche, a 6-foot-10 power forward and center, was discharged after his arrest by Stockton, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. The team played the G League Ignite in Henderson on December 5.
