Former MP Rosen Kosturkov Quits Politics Due to Low Efficiency: “I am tired”

This was announced to “24 Chasa” by the former MP from “We continue the change” in Plovdiv, Rosen Kosturkov. He is one of the main figures in the creation of the second city and was among its active parliamentarians.

An hour ago, he announced on his profile that he would not participate in the elections for the 50th Parliament, “and most likely for any other National Assembly”.

There is insult or bitterness at the heart of this decision, we asked the MP.

“Let’s not look for a calf under the bull. I made this decision back in the winter. I was just wondering how long this parliament would last. I couldn’t leave as an MP, it would be ugly, “explained Kosturkov, who has participated in three consecutive parliaments and has a total of 30 months as deputy.

“I’m tired of politics and especially with its low efficiency. I think I might be more useful outside of it,” he said.

He claims that for now he is still a member of the PP.

He says he had something to do, but it wasn’t important to society. “I just wanted to block you on the social network, but a decent person came out,” his friend wrote to him during a statement today.

For my close relatives, friends and colleagues, this decision is not a surprise, because we discussed it together several months ago.
My entry into politics was not a random process. It was considered a long time ago. It was time to give my contribution to make the place we live in better, to change the things we consider wrong, to draw the right path to the development of our country, our economy, our existence.
Unfortunately, to be effective in political circles in Bulgaria, you have to overcome the hypocrisy, you have to be rude and skeptical, you have to not, and let’s not God, stand up for your principles, you must be ready at any time. to put a knife in the back of your fellow man, no matter how willing you are to get one, you have to be able to lie and prejudice without scruples, you have to separate your ideas about categories such as morality, ethics , honesty… humanity is a word I don’t know.
We came to politics to change this environment. And happily, little by little, grain by grain, we succeed. But unfortunately, the speed with which this environment will change us is much greater.
In spite of everything, we have gathered amazing and completely committed people. People who abandon careers and families, who risk their health, and sometimes the health of their loved ones, work around the clock to the point of exhaustion so that we do not let hope for change disappear.
And with many of them, reason brought us together just 30 months ago, we became close friends, we became a family. And I know that each of us will continue to work for the benefit of society, whether in the National Assembly, in the Council of Ministers, in local government or in the areas where we can be more effective , even in the neighborhood in which we live. Each of us has kidnapped dozens, each of them as many, and so on. And this gives me hope that the change is now irreversible. Slow, long, difficult, but irreversible.
I will not even try to report what I have done for these 30 months in active politics, as some colleagues do, because the achievements are the result of a common vision, joint efforts, hard days and sleepless nights of entire teams, no. of one person.
But, if I managed to give people hope to change for the better, if I was able to help even just 2 villages, 2 families, 2 children… and they are much more, b it’s worth it.
