About eight months ago, after her flight from Amsterdam, Holland, Young was picked up by airport security in Cancun for a search. They found approximately 13 kilos of narcotics in her luggage. About $300,000 (€280,000) worth of ketamine was hidden in double-bottomed bags and bottles. That’s why they arrested her.
A tweet from Mexican police at the time said: “Upon arrival at Cancun International Airport, National Guardsmen and airport personnel found several packages of what appeared to be cocaine hidden in a secret compartment of a bag belonging to a foreign woman.”

“The British consul visited her last Wednesday. She is fine, now she has a cell to herself. It is much better than before.” Jennifer’s mother Angela told the British daily Daily Mail. Before being transferred to a prison in Mexico City in February, the 33-year-old woman was held in an overcrowded prison in Cancun.
