Former Minister of Education Emphasizes GERB’s Responsibility in Forming Government Cabinet

The former Minister of Education Academician Nikolay Denkov emphasized that the mandate holder is GERB and from the first day they are expected to decide what they will do. He does not think that the presentation of a project cabinet to PP-DB was a mistake.

“It is clear to everyone that it is not easy to form a government that can work well. We have been trying since the first day of this National Assembly not to repeat the mistakes of the last parliament. The National Assembly must adopt laws, adopt a budget and broadcast government,” said the nominee for prime minister from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” in the show “Supportive People”.

“Their job is to form a government, they expect the president to hand them the mandate at any moment. They have all the information, the questions should be addressed to them. The question is what draft cabinet GERB will produce. GERB is obliged to explain what it will do with the first mandate. There is no to support the mandate of GERB, we have a solution”, Academician Denkov also said before Bulgaria ON AIR.

The guest pointed out that so far only PP-DB has presented a management program. Criticism of a program cannot be that it is on an excel sheet, the content is important, Academician Denkov noted.

“The criticisms were extremely artificial. The attacks against what we propose are a serious smoke so as not to see that there is nothing proposed on the other side. Until the previous day, GERB experts were saying how much overlap we have and how everything is fine. “It turned out that they didn’t expect us to put together a cabinet. They had to figure out how to escape from this situation and started criticizing what looked good until yesterday,” believes the nominee for prime minister from the PP-DB.

Academician Denkov called on GERB-SDS to present their management program to PP-DB, if they have one. And he pointed out that the one on their website is pre-election, not administrative.

“In one speech of Mr. Borisov, you can hear all the possible options in the world. Let them come out and say how they think to implement the first mandate,” the MP from PP-DB urged again.

And he specified that they made all possible gestures to let people see that they have an agenda. They consider it a correct decision to implement the legislative program, to coordinate the management program and to implement it, to have a team of ministers to work together.

Academician Denkov categorically denied that they made any proposals to “Vazrazhdane”. And he warns that there is a danger that they will return to the beginning of the last National Assembly.

“We will not benefit at all from the elections. Vazrazhdane will benefit. Both GERB and DPS will retain their voters. I cannot comment on BSP. We cannot lie to our voters,” concluded Academician Denkov.
