Jakarta –
Several employees of the Ministry of Agriculture were witnesses in the corruption trial of the former Minister of Defence, Siahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). Many workers also admitted that they were forced to make false Travel Orders (SPJ) for the purposes of SYL corruption.
The Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Alexander Marwata then answered whether these workers would be processed. He explained that these workers would be handed over to the ministry’s inspectors for processing.
“Then do we also process that person? Yes, if we base it on the common law, it should be, ‘since he destroyed documents, he is for his own gain’, ‘but I don’t like the money, sir, I. we have to do this, it’s the money that other people like.” “Well, that’s also a consideration for the investigation that we give to the inspectors so that there are corrections for such people as well ,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Bòrd na Gàidhlig. Committee for the Elimination of Corruption, Alexander Marwata, at a press conference at the KPK, Monday (13/5/2024).
Alex said that he understood the problems that workers had with admitting in exams. He also explained that handing over to the ministry’s investigators is one way to treat employees as witnesses.
“Yes, it is also difficult for subordinates when they are asked a great leader. Then he also worried that if he didn’t get it done he would non-work and so on, yes, in various ways he will certainly try. “How can they then use inappropriate methods to get or use money, the Minister, then,” Alex explained.
“It doesn’t have to end in court, we are also limited to handling such cases. Yes, there are other ways to prevent someone without jailing them,” he said.
