The art world was truly shocked by his untimely demise. Among the most affected were his former colleagues from the groups Divertis and Distractis, who are in these difficult days with Gyuri’s ex-wife, who remained a close friend of the artist. Among them, Valentin Gora chose to dedicate to his friend and former colleague a truly disturbing text, in which he captured the essence of the one who was and remains Ioan Gyuri Pascu.
Gora’s emotional text, entitled “The Thief of Moments”, was shared on the Facebook page by another colleague of the two, Silviu Petcu. Through the words, a perfect mixture was created with stories about Gyuri Pascu’s talent, genius and sensitivity, but the pain is the one that appears on the surface.
“Gyuri is gone. He’s been gone for three days and I’ve been wanting to write about him ever since. And I don’t know how. Everyone was talking about Gyuri shining on stage. I could start with the one I walked from host to host, at our beginnings in Bucharest, with the stories of the sung and spoken nights in which we mixed almost everything that could be mixed: joys, sorrows, books, sports, our questions about the course and purpose of the world and much, much life. be a variant, the matches we saw and lived together … or I could start with Gyuri the sensitive, vulnerable and sad who hid in the guitar to be him, … or with Gyuri who knocked on the door at night to ask me if I don’t have a piece of bread that he has an onion, or with our car rides, or …. He might be the man I have the most memories with. laughed the most “, Valentin Gora started the stories lived with his friend, but also the complexity to be human.
“It was a perfect mix of Caragiale and Creanga, in which Shakespeare also got involved from time to time. Like Creanga, he had a healthy, frothy humor, I would call him Moldovan, but we are talking about Gyuri, he was a White Harap where they lived, happy and not too crowded, Guerrilla, Hungry, Setil, Eye or Wide-Length Bird, (don’t laugh, Gyuri knew how to bring the moon from the sky and put it in your palm). And not infrequently, everyone left , to make room for Santa Nechifor Coțcariu.
He loved Caragiale and had learned from him to use fine irony, to take from life and to put on the stage or on the screen, characters of fabulous humor. Self-irony was a bonus that came from him. His talent was huge, he took half a joke and made it a whole one, round and slapping like a new and beautiful ball. He was a thief for moments. He knew how to steal the moment, to make it his. Yes, he had true genius. I’ve seen this many times, so I have to say it. Stupid talking, I think God will laugh with him too.
With him laughter was laughter, the show was a spectacle, singing was sung, in three words: work was work. Only night was often day …
It was nice!
We’ve been playing a sad story for three days. I am waiting for a voice to be heard, from above, saying: Gyuri, that was good, we keep it, but let’s draw another perfect one “, Valentin Gora concluded, sadly.
