Former Manowar guitarist sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for child pornography

The former guitarist of the cult heavy metal band Manowar Carl Logan was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for possession of child pornography, the world media reported.

He was arrested on August 9, 2018 after being charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of minors.

The Manowar immediately distanced themselves from him and he was released from the gang.

In July 2020, the musician pleaded guilty to two counts of child pornography. The Charlotte Observer revealed at the time that the musician could face at least 25 years in prison after he pleaded not guilty to downloading and storing child pornography.

Last Monday, Judge Max Cogburn sentenced Logan, who lives in Charlotte, to five and a half years in prison. The musician will remain free until he is booked by the Federal Bureau of Prisons into custody and is allowed to report himself to prison.

Carl Logan played guitar and keyboards for Manowar after joining the band in 1994. He first appeared on the band’s 1996 album Louder Than Hell. Logan played on six studio albums, including 2014’s Kings of Metal MMXIV.
