Sven-Goran Eriksson give his opinion on his two successors in Manchester City, that is Roberto Mancini and Pep Guardiola. The first name is praised as high as the sky, while the second name is given a subtle satire.

Recently, the 73-year-old man was interviewed The Italian Football Podcast about various things, including about Mancini and Guardiola. Mancini, who used to lead Man City to the 2012 Premier League title and recently brought Italy to Euro 2020 champions, was Eriksson’s team at Sampdoria and Lazio.

“I could talk all day about Mancini. I knew he would be a good coach 20-25 years ago, when he was still playing. If there was someone I knew would be the coach it would be him because his mind is always full of football. still 20 years old,” Eriksson said in the broadcast, quoted by Football Italia.

“No wonder he plays beautiful football, because everything he does is always elegant, so is the way he coaches and behaves. So he doesn’t just win, but in a classy way.”

“Italy are good in possession, but also play direct. When they win the ball, they attack and keep attacking,” explained the Swede Mancini.

Meanwhile, Guardiola is the most successful coach in Man City when it comes to winning titles. Only he was able to lead The Citizens to win the English League three times and penetrate the Champions League final.

Eriksson do not doubt the quality of Guardiola. But he also agrees with the stigma that has been attached to the Spanish entrepreneur, that his team is successful because they have back-up strong funds.

Pep Guardiola is the best in the world, but it’s not difficult to win titles when we spend a lot of money,” said Eriksson.

Eriksson known as one of the successful coaches in Italy, especially when he won 7 trophies at Lazio in 1997-2001. After leaving the Biancoceleste, he coached in many places, including the England (2001-2006) and Manchester City (2007-08) which was then owned by the former prime minister of Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra.

In his time, Eriksson’s Lazio was also known to spend a lot of stars every season, allowing his team to compete with traditional powers such as AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan.
