The former singer of the band Lostprophets, Ian Watkins, is said to have been taken to hospital after being assaulted by several other prison inmates on Saturday.

Previously, the disgraced artist sold millions of albums and packed arenas alongside Welsh rock band Lostprophets.
Now he lives his life behind bars in the British prison HMP Wakefield.
There, Watkins (46) is serving a 29-year sentence for a number of sexual crimes, after he admitted, among other things, attempted abuse against several children and infants in 2013.

– Lucky if he’s alive
The former musician is said to have been attacked and stabbed by three other inmates in the prison, and is now in a critical condition, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper writes that Watkins was captured by the inmates, and held for around six hours, before he was freed by prison officers.
– He was found by prison officers after being held hostage and beaten on Saturday morning. He is in a life-threatening condition and there are fears that he may die. He will be very lucky if he survives, an anonymous source tells the newspaper.
A spokesperson for the prison says that they are now investigating an incident that took place on Saturday, but that they cannot make any comments while the case is under investigation.
“Dedicated pedophile”
Watkins’ crimes sent shockwaves through the rock world after he pleaded guilty to attempted molestation of an infant and ten other sex crimes.
He allegedly encouraged several of his followers to commit sexual crimes on his behalf, including two women who offered their infants to be abused by their idol.
Watkins was described as a “determined and dedicated pedophile” in court.
During the prison hearing, the judge harshly criticized the artist, after requesting a prison sentence of 29 years.
– These courts see a large number of cruel cases, but this case stands out.
The judge condemned Watkins’ predation of his supporters.
– You achieved success and fame as a singer in Lostprophets. You had a lot of fans and that gave you power. You knew you could use that power to get young female fans to satisfy your insatiable lust and take part in sexually assaulting their own children.
– Away from the highlights of your public appearances, lay a dark and sinister side, he concluded.
