Former Lingopresenter Lucille Werner will almost certainly be in the Lower House with her 7,133 preferential votes. She was in tenth place on the candidate list of the CDA, which got fifteen seats, so there was a good chance, but she could still have been overtaken by other candidates with enough preferential votes. That did not happen and that is why one of the CDA seats goes to Werner.
The Electoral Council determined the final result of the parliamentary elections on Friday. Now it is up to the Credentials Committee of the House of Representatives to decide whether the result is valid and whether Werner and the 149 other prospective MPs meet the conditions. Werner must also let you know whether she will accept her seat.
Other well-known Dutch people did not have a real chance of a seat due to their position as pusher on the electoral lists. Swimmer Maarten van der Weijden was pushing the list for the VVD. He will not be in the House, but received 4,116 preferential votes. Johan Vlemmix took part again with his own party, De Feestfeest.
Vlemmix was the only candidate and received 3,744 votes. Actresses Maryam Hassouni (2,811 votes) and Babette van Veen (1,265) were on the list of the Party for the Animals, as were top photographer Anton Corbijn (529), comic maker Barbara Stok (870) and the writers Guus Kuijer (450) and Persoon from Cologne (320).
Former presenter Leonie Sazias is leaving the House of Representatives, of which she was a member for 50PLUS for the past four years. She still pushed the list and received 2,650 votes. Presenter and GroenLinks candidate Eric Corton received 708 preferential votes. Party member Leoni Jansen, who used the Youth news presented, received the support of 387 voters.
